The one figure from its makers is a comparison: executive producer Jon Bloch told Wccftech that its critical path is longer than Metro Exodus's, with no number of hours. Metro Exodus takes 16 hours for the main story and 42 to finish everything, by the times HowLongToBeat players reported as of Nov 3, 2026, so Metro 2039's main story should run past 16 hours if Bloch's comparison holds for most players. The earlier games are shorter: about 9 to 10.5 hours each for Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light and their Redux versions.
